France Télévisions takes French broadcasting into the next generation

BERLIN (IFA) - Following a successful pilot during the 2011 Roland Garros Tournament, France's premier broadcasting group is launching a hybrid broadcast broadband portal and an innovative TV news application.
During IFA (2−7 September 2011), public broadcasting group France Télévisions will be launching a permanent DTT portal to coincide with the advent of the first connected TVs equipped for the new European specification HbbTV.
The portal, developed by WizTiVi, will be fed with news stories by France Télévisions' newsrooms throughout the day and will feature international, national and regional news bulletins, up-to-the-minute sports reports, the latest video weather forecasts and a guide to programmes.
